Mukri

Mukri
The Mukri were a powerful Kurdish tribal confederation that existed for hundreds of years south and west of Lake Urumiya in the Persian Empire. In 1623, they helped the Safavid Persians recapture Baghdad from the Ottomans, and they long provided the shah the best cavalry he could muster. By 1900, the Mukru were divided into two main tribes, the Dihbukri and the Mamash.
